Homemade Buttercream Frosting

  • 1 cup of butter softened
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 Tablespoons heavy whipping cream


  1. Using a stand or hand mixer, blend butter until smooth & creamy.
  2. Add powdered sugar 1/2 cup at a time until fully incorporated.
  3. Add vanilla and mix well.
  4. Add heavy whipping cream and blend well until full mixed in.
  5. Fill pipping bag and pipe onto cake or cupcakes.

If you would like to maybe add a little bit of cocoa powder to make it chocolate flavored
